If that suddenly starts crashing, then it will point to new hardware, and exclude unstable Vista drivers. I presume I am correct in thinking that it's unlikely to be the CPU? Surely they either work properly or not at all. Memory has passed Vistas own memory checker, so it shouldn't be that.

Yes 5 times. The last time, it froze right after it finished booting. The only thing I'm doing when it freezes is surfing the net with IE. And ctrl atl del doesn't work either when it freezes. How do i prevent Vista from updating drivers
A family member has a new Toshiba computer with Vista (they couldn't supply it with XP unfortunately) and it keeps freezing up so that it has to be rebooted forcibly. Unless anyone knows of a solution to this, is the remedy to purchase XP and then to demand that the retailer reimburse you the cost?

VISTA Install Freezing
On my computer when I click on Live TV the TV comes on and about 20 seconds later the video freezes and 3 or 4 seconds after that the audio quits and the screen locks up. I have to CTRL ALT DEL and log off then log back on to get control back. I can, however, watch the Live TV on my XBox Media Center.
